11/18/25 [from Joy's foster] Joy I believe is a very unique, one-of-a-kind, intelligent dobie. She has not destroyed one thing in the house. When we leave her alone, she gives me a kiss at the door and then goes to the window and watches as I drive away from the house, and as soon as I pull back into the driveway, she's at the window waiting for me. With a huge smile. ALL teeth. And may I add her teeth are in very good condition. When she wants to go out, she picks up a paw and actually kicks me in the butt, and then walks over to the area where I have her leash. She sits down, and she literally picks her head up so I can put her leash on. She does need some practice with walking a bit slower, as she loves to go and see the squirrels and rabbits. Sometimes she even tries to climb the tree to get to the squirrels. She takes a break every so often and just sits down in the street, and you see her nose widen open as she smells everything around her. She looks up at the trees and looks at the birds. I truly believe she loves fresh air. She does know how to hug; she puts her face, which includes part of her neck, on my shoulder and leaves it there. When I go to hug her, she's just an amazing, intelligent, velcro dobie. She's very quirky, very funny, and very intelligent, and extremely inquisitive. She must touch every leaf and smell every flower. She loves blueberries, carrots, pure pumpkin, and sweets. She has never destroyed anything in the house, never ripped anything except for her toys. She loves taking the stuffing out of the toys, but she pushes it aside; she knows not to eat the stuffing, and sometimes the little squeaky plastic piece in there, she squeaks it for a bit, then she pushes it aside literally with her paw. She's just so warm, loving, and sweet, and those floppy ears are just the cutest. She usually does flop her ears when she has to go out. That's my sign; I am now trained to know it's time to go for a walk. So I believe that she has totally trained me... A total love bug that will love you unconditionally, she's a very good protector. I have a crate for her, but the only time she goes in there is when she gets a new toy. She brings it there, leaves it there, and then comes back for it and plays with it on her little carpet. She sleeps in an orthopedic bed, and she loves to keep something of yours, like a t-shirt, with her at all times. I think it makes her feel secure. She is a pure Joy. 11/17/25 Our beautiful JOY has recovered from her cherry eye surgery and is doing great. We are so grateful to her incredible foster who is taking such wonderful care of her and says she is the sweetest, most intelligent Doberman she has ever had. JOY loves putting her new toys and stuffies inside her crate and amuses her foster mom with her silly antics. She's a good girl when left alone and is going to make some family very lucky. 9/29/25. FOSTER NEEDED! Look at this absolutely adorable sweetheart JOY!!!! This young dober girl straight outta MDAS needs a foster/foster to adopt so she can get her cherry eye fixed asap and then find her new home. She is a bit shy at first but warms up quickly and only wants to give kisses. She is pure love. She seems to like other dogs, but we haven't had a whole lot of opportunity to put her in with other dogs yet. Cats and young children are unknown, so we won't put her in that situation. This girl is special; she's going to make some family very happy! 9/20/25, we welcome Joy, a 3-year-old girl, to DRL. She was surrendered to MDAS after being used for breeding. Joy has a cherry eye that we'll need to take care of once she's recovered from her spay surgery. Right now, she's feeling quite overwhelmed by the change; she's sweet but really shy. We're giving her some time to settle in and get to know her better. We're not sure how she feels about dogs, cats, or kids yet.
