Doberman Rescue League, Inc. started out in 1977, as a non-profit corporation comprised of volunteers who were willing to give their time, expertise and their homes to help place Dobes where they would be cared for and LOVED.

The League was formed to combat the population explosion in Doberman Pinschers. We provide humane treatment for lost, abandoned, abused and surrendered Dobes in the Miami, Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beach areas of Florida.

Our main goals are to protect Dobermans already here, prevent further overbreeding and educate any Doberman owner who requests it.

Rescue provides medical care for all Dobes we take in, including all inoculations needed; we screen for parasites and heartworm. All Rescue Dobes are spayed or neutered and tattooed for identification purposes using a DRL prefix and log number, prior to placement. Rescue Dobes are also microchipped for further protection and identification.
|

In order to provide veterinary care and feed our Rescue Dobes, we depend on donations and are often seen at public functions in a fundraising and educational capacity.

Our adoption area covers Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach Counties (please see our link page for a Rescue in your area). For all applicants interested in adopting, an application must be filled out. All applicants will be carefully screened. No dog will be placed without a home visit. We DO NOT ship dogs to other states and we DO NOT place guard or attack dogs.

We recommend Obedience training of the Dobermans, as they are active, responsive and highly intelligent dogs. This breed is not for everyone. The only reason to adopt one of these dogs is to make them a member of your family.
